History: A supposed casualty of the Vietnam War, Jacob Singer has been living inexplicably four years later, and not in the best condition. He's been experiencing horrifying visions, and seems to not be in any single place for long. In truth, he's dead because of a government experiment gone wrong that involved an aggression drug known as "the Ladder". He's been unable to accept this, and according to Meister Eckhart, the Angels guiding him will appear as demons...

Final Fate: One angel takes the form of Jacob's friend, Louis, and explains to him everything. Now willing to leave the past behind, Jacob takes his son's hand, and parts for the Pearly Gates ahead.

Scariness Factor: 3-It can be said that these abominations were only trying to help, but it was easy to assume at first that Jacob had stumbled into Hell. That faceless doctor in particular will haunt your dreams...

Trivia: "Jacob's Ladder" came from the Book of Genesis as a way to heaven dreamed up by a patriarch of the same name.
